Privacy Policy

1. What We Collect

We collect only what is necessary to provide the Service:

• —Account information — your email address and display name, collected when you sign up via Clerk.
• —Usage data — which parts of Priceslap you open (for example card pages, the optimizer or deals), counted per day. Visits while signed out go into one anonymous count that isn't linked to anyone. We don't store your search terms or a page-by-page browsing history. Used to improve the product and to show your getting-started steps on the dashboard. Not sold.
• —Survey answers — if you answer our one-question survey in the app (“How would you feel if you could no longer use Priceslap?”), we store your answer and anything you choose to write, linked to your account.
• —Payment metadata — subscription status, plan type, and billing dates, processed via Stripe. We never see or store your card number, CVV, or full billing address.
• —Watchlist — the cards you save. Stored in your account and visible only to you.
• —Portfolio — the cards you record as owned, with the grade, quantity, price paid, date and note you enter. Stored in your account and visible only to you.
• —Card photos — none. Photos you check with the Centering Scanner are measured in your browser and never uploaded.
• —IP address — used briefly to rate-limit requests so scripts can't overload the site (saves, exports, billing and survey requests are counted per account instead). These counters are deleted automatically within a day.

2. How We Use It

• —To provide and operate the Service — including showing price data and verdicts, keeping your watchlist, and managing your account and subscription.
• —To send transactional emails — sign-in codes and account notices (sent by Clerk) and billing emails such as receipts (sent by Stripe).
• —To improve the product — understanding which features get used and where users get stuck.
• —To protect the Service — rate limiting and preventing abuse.
• —To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

We do not sell your data. We do not use your data to train AI models without your explicit consent.

3. Who We Share With

We use the following subprocessors to operate the Service. Each processes only the data necessary for their function:

• —Clerk — authentication and account management. Stores your email and session tokens.
• —Stripe — payment processing. Handles all card data directly; we receive only your subscription status, plan and billing dates.
• —Vercel — hosting and infrastructure. Processes request data (IP, user agent) as part of normal web hosting.
• —Neon — database hosting. Stores your Priceslap data: watchlist, portfolio, plan status, usage counts and survey answers.
• —Cloudflare — DNS, and forwarding email you send to our @priceslap.app addresses to our Gmail inbox.

We do not share your data with advertisers, data brokers, or any third party not listed above.

4. Data Retention

• —Account data is retained while your account is active.
• —When you delete your account (Manage account → Delete account), we delete your watchlist, portfolio, usage history and survey answers, and cancel any subscription so you aren't billed again.
• —Billing records (plan, status and dates) are kept as long as we need them for accounting, tax and disputes. Stripe keeps payment records under its own policy.
• —Rate-limit counters are deleted automatically within a day.
• —Anonymous, aggregated usage counts may be retained indefinitely for product analytics.

5. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• —Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• —Deletion — delete your account yourself, or ask us to delete it and the data linked to it. We will comply within 30 days, subject to any legal retention obligations.
• —Export — download your portfolio as a CSV from the Portfolio page any time, or request a machine-readable export of your watchlist and account data.
• —Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate data we hold about you.

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@priceslap.app. We will respond within 30 days.

6. Cookies

We use essential cookies only:

• —Authentication session cookies (managed by Clerk) to keep you signed in.
• —A language cookie so the site remembers whether you use it in English or French.
• —Theme preference (soft/pro mode) stored in your browser's local storage.

We do not use tracking pixels, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics networks. Our usage counts are first-party and stay in our own database. We do not participate in cross-site tracking.

7. Children

Priceslap is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us at privacy@priceslap.app and we will delete the account promptly.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the Service evolves. For material changes, we will notify you by email before the change takes effect. The current version will always be posted at this URL.
